nice! I just joined.
I just figured out that c/guitars sorts to the bottom of the Subscribed to communities box on https://lemmy.world because the Display name isn't capitalized like most communities. Where did you get the icon you used for the community. It really fits with the overall aesthetic used in a lot other communites on this instance.
I honestly don't remember which of the free icon sites I got the icon from, but it was one of those.
😆
I just joined Lemmy today so I'm not sure, but there's a good amount of us in the Pedals and Gear Discord server.
Hey could you share a link to the discord? I'd be interested in joining 🙏
I think I’m on that server already. Just trying to figure out where to go for things after Reddit.
My guess is the discord servers will grow immensely. Lemmy seems like it could work too although I dislike how i have to sign up for several different servers. IMO, that's a huge drawback and I'd much prefer being able to find a discord dedicated to one hobby or topic and have them neatly organized in my apps across different platforms rather than having to dig around across different Lemmy servers for my interests. Is there a way to aggregate all the lemmy servers into one feed?
You only need to sign up and login to one instance. You can then subscribe to the various communities regardless of what instance they are hosted on. All those communities will then show up under your subscribed tab. If you look at my name, I am posting to you from an instance called Sopuli while you are currently on lemmy.world.
Here is a quick start guide on your instance to help you get started: https://lemmy.world/post/37906
Much appreciated!
I'd advise you post in more general communities for now. Lemmy is very new. As far as I've found this is the largest guitar community and the vast majority of posts get no comments. Best to build up this community where there are at least some people already than posting into an empty room.
Agreed
I did see one, but we may want to keep some communities condensed down more early on.
