The agency’s chief, Kyrylo Budanov, has alleged Moscow has approved a plan to blow up the station and has mined four out of six power units, as well as a cooling pond. Last week Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said Russia was plotting a “terrorist attack”.

Fuck putler, this can trigger a world war

Is there a way they could blow it up without making a radioactive cloud? "Power units" could refer the the radioactive bits or just turbines and/or alternators.

They didn't strictly mined the power units, but also the cooling pool, so... all of those are set up to cause a meltdown. The article point that out.

I mean, if they want to they definitely could, but starting WWIII over this shit? That's insane. (Not to mention the nuclear disaster)

I think we have clearly established in the past year that any sense of rationality from the Russian government is already out of the window.

I definitely have no delusions of their competence at this point. I still hold tenuously to the idea they want to live.

Little late now but I suggest we make some changes on our energy policy in the west. We can encourage renewable energy sources while at the same time supporting our conventional energy companies. Failing to do this has resulted in countries like Russia becoming energy giants. And all that money they make at our expense does not encourage world security.

We need to build more nuclear power plants. It's the best solution.

Fully agree. I been encouraging nuclear before global warming was mainstream.

It feels like NATO and allies are just letting this happen. That poor country has had so much shit piled on it, Ukraine deserves better.
