How do I share files on Soulseek?? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Help! I cannot figure out how to share files on Soulseek. I had one file set up at the start (I wish I had known that this would be an immediate requirement or I'd have been better prepared before installing Soulseek) but there's no option for adding new files. Under "Options" --> "File Sharing" there's a box for file sharing but it only gives me the option of REMOVING the shared file, there's no option for adding one, and I removed the only files I had been sharing because I thought maybe it was set up as a one-at-a-time thing so now I'm sharing nothing at all and I'm kind of freaking out.

Please, I want to share files but I'm not a software engineer like pretty much literally everyone else. I'm also very mentally unhealthy so please, I know that it's kind of standard procedure to be a dick on the internet but I can't handle it, I just need help. Please. Please. Please.

Hey I'm not sure but the soulseek interface is very resilient to change lol. It is not good. Since you're just starting out, check out nicotine +. It's the same underlying p2p client as soulseek but a much better user interface. https://github.com/nicotine-plus/nicotine-plus

Plus it lets you add a search to your wishlist with one click which was kind of a pain in the ass on soulseek. The wishlist will alert you when someone logs in that has the search query you want, for example "Jerry Paper Like a Baby flac".

Go to Options > Share Folder (on the top, next to "Set Download Folder")

Then select the folder you want to share with all the music or videos in it and that's it.

You can set up a single folder that has subfolders, or you can share multiple folders separately, your choice.

How do I share files in SoulseekQt? Go to the Options->File Sharing tab and click 'Share Folder' in the top bar.

I don't use Soulseek (or know anybody who does in 2023) but I'm happy to work through this with you if you have any issues or questions.
