He has genuine and severe mental illnesses. He's off his meds at the moment due to his paranoia about them.
It's incredibly clear when he's off his meds, as when he's on them he turns a lot more reasonable and not Nazi at all.

What in the actual fuck? I went and looked up the lyrics. I went and looked at some of the things people were saying on xcancel. I haven't looked at the service formerly known as Twitter in years.
So I repeat, what in the actual fuck? The very loud unveiled racism, the calling a black preacher "more like rabbi" for calling out hate, the glorifying Nazis by saying they drug Germany and the world into the modern age.....like not dog whistles. Out and out fucking craziness.
I mean, I knew these people existed. I know some in real life. I grew up near a whole town built on white supremacy and dated a woman whose incarcerated brother was in the Aryan Brotherhood (she cut off contact but her mom gave out her address....I got to read the letters from him and they were disturbing). Hell, a MUD I played had a front end called Stormfront so I ended up in a very bad Internet forum looking for info and even it was tame comparatively. I've never seen so many gathered in one place using such uncoded and terrible language.
Jesus tapdancing Christ. It's a different thing knowing something this horrible exists and seeing this bullshit go down.
Disinformation is a cancer. In the absence of a shared nucleus of objective facts, all kinds of bullshit tumors fester. The horrors of Nazi genocide get downplayed, and the process of finding scapegoats to blame for economic problems starts again.
Social media has enabled alternative facts and history. The lack of education gives fertile soil for stupidity to flourish. Desperate economic conditions give the motivation. Struggling, angry people can easily be brainwashed to blame other victims of the system, rather than the billionaires causing everyone’s suffering.
Or white supremacy is an appealing ideology for sections of the global North populations who would rather enact massive violence to ensure a comfortable life for themselves than join a highly disruptive movement that threatens to knock them down several pegs on the world totem pole.

Oh no it is. West has iirc quite severe schizophrenia, and he's not taking his meds for them due to paranoia (the meds are "stifling his creativity" you know).
He wasn't a Nazi before. Since he's off his meds, he turned total Nazi. And iirc in the brief time where he started taking his meds again he apologised for some of the Nazi stuff. And now he's off them again so it's Nazi o' clock.

Have you any inkling how incredibly insulting it is to imply that schizophrenics are prone to be Nazis? For the record, no, schizophrenia does not cause Nazi sympathies, and indeed the Nazis sought to murder every schizophrenic they could find.
He is a Nazi. He may have not been one before, but he is now. This is independent of his diagnosis. He has always been an egotist piece of shit. I understand that is seen as a boon in the rap community so he has been indulged, and has chosen to go further.
I'm not saying all schizophrenics are prone to be Nazis, don't put words in my mouth. I'm well aware of what the Nazis did.
I'm saying that West's schizophrenia is likely making him prone to Nazi sympathies, evidenced by his apparent lack of those sympathies when he is on his meds. In his case these two are very strongly correlated. Schizophrenia is a very complex mental disease that manifests differently in different people. We don't know exactly what goes on in his head, but we know he isn't sound of mind. Hitler is theorized to have had a form of paranoid schizophrenia too. West specifically seems to believe that black people are "the real jews" and that Hitler was therefore right to kill the "imposters" or something stupid. The reasoning he presents does fit with paranoid schizophrenia.
To be clear, schizophrenia is a disease that we know how to manage, and most schizophrenics do so just fine. West in particular is an idiot for not taking his meds. And of course his diagnosis doesn't absolve him from the responsibility of his actions. But they are clearly related in his case.
He is also egotistical and seems to have some kind of messiah-complex. That does appear to just be him being a piece of shit.
For once I think it's causation and not corelation.
