That's going to be entertaining to see a liberal win that seat well

It's an Alberta riding that went 82% Conservative in the last election. It's highly unlikely.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

About as unlikely as going from a projected super majority to an 8% chance of forming a Government?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

It's a riding in deep-blue Alberta. Not going to happen.

See a lot of post just about the 81.8%(53,502) of votes, but the bigger thing is that it's out of 81,123 electors so even if every other elector went to a single candidate plus another 10k swung from Conservative's that would still not be enough.

Very descriptive quote from Wikipedia:

Even by the standards of rural Alberta, Battle River—Crowfoot is a strongly conservative riding.

They really wanted to make sure Monsieur Poil was safe.

Okay Battle River-Crowfoot, you know what to do

The guy wasn't an MP long enough to be eligible to the pension at 65 either, he'll get what he put in back so that will be a nice cheque to keep him going for a bit (20% deduction for the MP's pension).

Is "The New Republic" serious or a joke site? I cannot tell as the headline is too strighforward.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

It's a legit site.
