Is restarting really that big of a deal? Even with servers you just do it during a maintenance window. These days 90% of what I had open opos back up when I log back in.

Not overly expensive. But I have to wondering how bad the reporting will become, how many false alerts will be generated, how 3rd party vulnerability scanners will detect it as needing a reboot before it's patched.
Based on Microsoft's track record for service alerts over the last year, I can see a lot of headaches incoming.

@harrysintonen Reducing the reboots required for patching benefit not only the ecosystem, but Microsoft themselves, so directly that they should pay us to opt into reboot-free patching.
