Imagine having to have a different web browser for every website you visited, that's what 80% of apps feel like. Can't you just make a decent mobile site?
I remember when Firefox OS was new and the "apps" were just shortcuts to web apps. I bet websites would be less annoying right now if that had caught on.
But if there's a decent mobile website users will be able to block ads and delete cookies and then how will we track and monetize their every move?

Website owner: But I'll feel sad if I can't have your delicious data 😞

I don't have to imagine it, I'm old enough to have lived through it. Websites used to say stuff like "best viewed with Netscape Navigator" or "Best with at least 800x600 resolution" because web elements back then were fixed in place and didn't resize with the browser window or resolution. It was...a different time. Wild west shit.
Using Elektron feels like having multiple browsers with one window each on desktop.
for real, i never understood this xD "welcome to reddit. we're a website, but DON'T TOUCH THE WEBSITE! USE OUR APP, THIS IS WHY WE HAVE AN APP"
