How much is it where you live?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 18 hours ago

Here it is 6 to 9€. Depends on what bread you want. Pitah, plain wrap or lahmacun. Also we have the 'kapsalon" about 10€.

10€ in France. As expensive as fast food.

I've always wanted to try döner, but they're impossible to find in the US, at least outside large cities :(

I saw a chain for a brief time called “Vertskebap” but it didn’t last long. Maybe because they were also charging $16 a pop.

Döner macht schöner, auf Dauer auch schlauer. McDonalds just makes fat.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 17 hours ago

... and healthier too.

Lamb doner meat and chips, with lettuce, onions and burger sauce. Food of the gods!

Dang it, if y'all keep posting stuff like this you're gonna makes me want to immigrate even more than I already do.

God i wish i could try real döner, didn't have a taste for it when I was young, and there just isn't any anywhere near me where i live now. Which just feels weird to me, i always thought that was a guarantee anywhere near a military installation

McDonalds is nasty. I don't touch the stuff in the US and feel it would really be a waste of what could have been a good meal in EU.

Not as good as it's far superior cousin "The Halifax Donair". Come visit and try one.

The good old nice’n’greasy

Not to be that guy, but McDonalds doesn't really give a shit if you eat at their restaurant. They own the land that the restaurant sits on. It's only the franchisee that gets in financial trouble from lost revenue.

McDonalds can always sell the land even if individual restaurants fail.

the franchise buys stuff from the corp tho
