Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

Beginning at minute 2:46, Trump said:

I love what he said, like three Super Bowls a day for a month. That's what it is. That's really amazing when you think of it. I've never heard that expression. That's a lot. You know when we made this [plan] it was made during my term, my first term, and it was so sad because they said, 'Can you imagine? I'm [you're] not going to be president. And that's too bad.' And what happened is, they rigged the election, and I became president. So that was a good thing, that was a good thing, that was quite an achievement for both of us. So I'll be president during the World Cup.

Although the clip is unaltered and the quote in question is authentic, Trump did not specify whether he was referring to the 2020 or 2024 presidential election.

It doesn't seem that unclear to me. He said "this plan was made during my first term", then said that they said "you're not going to be president". That's all during the first term, when he's already president, so it sounds to me like he's referring to the second election, where he did become president.

I hate that we have to even entertain his utterances as if they were anything but the Cerenkov radiation emanating from his psychic void through the medium of his legion enablers.
