much thanks to @gary_host_laptop for the logo design :)
I wish it had folders in the app drawer
Yeah, it lacks a lot of features. Feeds donβt work either.
Not a fan of feeds and I don't need them. I can't find a good launcher with folders, up to date and with some customization
Most foss launchers Iβve tried are terrible. LawnChair is the only one that stood out the most.
I used https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/com.saggitt.omega before realizing it's 2 years old. The only one I've found with folders
You mean folders as in sections?
- Games
- Social
- Productivity
Something like that?
Folders in the app drawer or app list (depends on how you call it)
Came here to recommend this. Cheers! π»
I will try lawnshair first to see how I like thanks π looks good
Switching the launcher will almost do ZERO for your privacy. Just to let you know.
Anyhow, you could check out the "F-Droid" App Store, which is populated with the most privacy respecting open source apps out there. It also has some launchers.
Or you could at least check apps on Exodus for trackers.
I figured it wouldn't do much or anything for privacy but figured it would be worth an ask. Thanks
There is a 3rd party launcher issue on Pixels that will some times freeze the UI. It has to do with the use of the recents menu. It has been the bane of my existence on my pixel 6 for 18 months. Didn't used to do it. It could be easily fixed by Google but they won't.

This happens on my Pixel as well. I forget which launcher I use but I keep the icon on my homescreen so I can just hold it to get the app info and force stop it.
I set up a tasker intent that launches the pixel launcher then my kills it after 1 second followed by a restart of total launcher. This works well Got it as a quick settings tile. I use total launcher but it does it with lawn chair as well. Factory reset didn't help.
After trying out many different app launchers on f-droid Kvaesito is what I found to be the best. Kvaesito is very good and is what I use it allows you to swipe down and eminently start searching for apps.
My biggest problem with it (and it's a big one) is ocasionally it will just freeze and stop working until I lock the phone and turn it on again. (maybe you won't have this problem just try it out)
Will do. Many people talk about launcher freezing thanks
If you want something completely different check out the KISS launcher or Kvaesito.
Iβve been happily using mLauncher. Itβs about as minimal as they come. Iβve got zero on my screens. https://github.com/DroidWorksStudio/mLauncher
I know It's not FOSS but I love Niagara Launcher maybe give it a shot and if you want to you can just cut off it's internet access
Kvaesito is awesome.
Yes, there are many options.
I saved a thread a while back when I was looking for a new launcher too.
