That's worth considerably more than $1,000 to a collector

Who writes a blue 9 in pen on a $1000 bill? Did he have 9 or more of them at one time?

I wish they still printed them. It's such a hassle carrying around a wad of $100s.

Weird they printed these out when the dollar was worth more. Now the dollar is worth less bigger bills make more sense than ever.

They definitely would, thank goodness we're heading toward a cashless society :P

Cashless as in credit cards or poor...

What about graft and payola? How would politicians get paid in a cashless society?

A quick Google search says:

"Most 1934 series and 1934A series $1,000 notes are worth around $2,125 in very fine condition"

I'd say it's fair condition so best I can do is $50

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

$75, and last offer.

That's over $22000 in today's money https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl

They seem to sell for around $2000-5000 on eBay, so not a solid investment.

Totally would have bought it just to have it and asked forgiveness later. I've got a few other older bills that are fun to go back and look at the old styles -- although they're in significantly lower denominations.
