It is unclear whether the US government will take up the offer, however, with questions around the legality of such moves. Any effort by the Trump administration to deport incarcerated US nationals to another country would face significant legal pushback.

“The US is absolutely prohibited from deporting US citizens, whether they are incarcerated or not,” Leti Volpp, a law professor at UC Berkeley who specializes in immigration law and citizenship theory, told CNN over email.

Trump and his cronies are openly breaking the law every day and are getting away with it, yet people, including actual law professors, are continuing to naively believe that laws and the rule of law will be uphold. The Trump administration will either blatantly go against the law on this and/or have their bought and paid for Supreme Court make it legal.

It is not harmful for them to point out, im sure they are aware of everything you said. They arent talking to the administration, they are talking to the public, and it's worth reminding ourselves and others that these actions are illegal. There are legal actions that are horrific too, but we shouldnt pretend the horrific illegal ones arent an easier fight.

The way I remember it, Bush deported some Salvadoran gang members from LA, who showed their friends in the homeland how to do the gang thing & everyone came back to the USA for fun n profit
MS13 was born
We certainly have supported a series of despotic regimes in El Salvador for at least the last century, in support of various corporate interests

He better take money first not prisoners, with Trump not being the best at paying people for their services this guy is taking a risk at bringing people in and then having to pay for it without any compensation from the USA.
