Hey girls and friends, I am 8 days on hrt and I feel like my skin is already softer ??? Is it even possible or am I just imagining it?

Nothing else seems to have changed.

While some people are saying placebo, I think otherwise. I had softer skin after a few days and at about 7 days I woke up with breast buds and I know for sure that that was not placebo. Some people develop rather quickly, others take a while, and both are normal. I was an early bloomer with my first puberty, but I have no idea if that has any correlation with my second or if it's just coincidence.

The beauty with placebo is that it works even tho you know it's placebo :p

I mean, if I can physically observe it with touch and sight, then it's not placebo.

Oh I didn't mean your breast buds; even if my feeling of softer skin is placebo, well, the effect is still that I feel like I have softer skin.

But like you said, having effects in the first week is possible so it's (my skin) probably not placebo in the first place

That is pretty normal. Skin was the first noticeable change for me.

What surprised me most in the first month was how similar everything felt. Your body has no way to consciously perceive your hormone levels directly. You will notice the effects. Skin and mood are often the first.

You're not imagining things The E is working! Congrats on getting started!

Oh great to hear it :D

I don't know what kind of feeling I was expecting but I believed that I would be able to feel the change in hormones :p

Also: My endocrinologist (spelling???) told me that quite quickly new fat would be deposited in girlies spots. I already ate quite a lot this weekend. Let's put this claim to the test^^

How'd it go? Notice anything?

Fat will deposit in more feminine places but there is no mechanism to actively remove it from elsewhere. That's why trans men need top surgery. Hormones can only make they cannot unmake.

You do burn fat and it is removed everywhere in an impartial way. Expect changes to take time.

Sometime soon your nipples will start to get sore and hurt. That means things are developing!

Be sure to keep an eye on your smell as well! That and mental stuff were the first things I noticed

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

I didn't think about that! Thanks for the tip

Took me a month to notice the changes. The first thing that happened to me was a big libido reduction

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

Most likely placebo. It takes longer than that for your body to really start absorbing the meds.

Fwiw I've been on HRT for 10 years, changed my meds in November. Only feeling the effects of that now.

Yesss! Enjoy!! The effects on skin were one of the big aspects of hrt that I was super looking forward to! It was so frustrating having a dedicated skincare routine and constantly fighting all the issues that testosterone creates. One of my favorite things at the end of the day is just petting myself 🤭

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

Yeah. That happened after about 3~4 days for me and happened practically overnight. It was wild.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

Oh cool! It took me several months to see any skin changes, but everyone's different. In my case, man-smell disappeared and I got chest sensitivity in the first few days.

idk, I feel like it's placebo effect. Thought the same at first but looking back and I just think it was a placebo effect and other non-hrt related things.
