Are you using Firefox in Wayland mode? It defaults to XWayland by default and it caused issues with my system
Firefox
A place to discuss the news and latest developments on the open-source browser Firefox
I know you probably don't wanna hear it, but just use one of the Bing wrappers like DuckDuckGo. There is no reason to use Bing in 2023 anyways.
my favorite bing wrapper is ecosia, they say they plant trees and I trust them just a little more than ddg in terms of privacy
Is there any particual reason why ddg is less trustworthy for you or its just matter of preference ?
They were caught selling data to Microsoft, which is a pretty stark contrast from their initial mission of being the anti-Google that respected your privacy.
yeah this is pretty much why I don't trust ddg as much. at the same time, I really haven't investigated ecosia that thoroughly, so it's possible they could be just as bad but afaik they at least haven't been in any controversies like that, so that's good enough for me right now
there are specific response on bing that's useful (stackoverflow), that isn't available like ddg, and ddg 30% miss (for my case), I tried to change the query, but it takes time, 5-6 times, then I will able to hit.
I do know bang, but it's not my style. I been using bing for years, (also duckduckgo before that), and In my opinion the new bing after march 2023, have better answer than ddg, and most time in my case even beat google for now after building up my search query.
That's why It's hard to stay away from bing for now. Yes it's like having bing replacing google, but I need it for work sadly.
