"You are always next"

It's a phrase I've been saying a lot lately.

People don't realize that once you start down the path of taking away the fundamental human rights of people you don't like, that road eventually leads back to your own home. It's a one way street, so once you start down it, you can't just stop and you can't turn around.

"But you don't understand! They are the bad guys!" yes, and eventually.... so are you.

“But you don’t understand! They are the bad guys!”

Y'know, that's the funny thing. I live in the U.S., and all the people losing their rights seem to be the good ones that are nonviolent and just wish to live their lives.

In the early Internet days I recall the theories were that the 'World Wide Web' was literally just that, a trap to catch people and 'internet' being jokingly referred to as being 'into-the-net' with similar meaning. At the time those concepts referred more to Internet addiction but now I find it strange that it's come back around to the whole idea of us all being trapped in the corporate web with no escape whilst they leech off our rights and privacy as we lie helpless and despondent.

That article is dirt, it makes wild accusations purely based on not understanding how the Irish legislative process works, or more likely assuming it's readership doesn't. Its not going to do any good here because it reads like something a nutter would put together when you do have at least the gist of the system.

If you actually want to have an impact share things more in line with the iccl statement and if you're Irish talk to your local politician, that noyb article doing the rounds will do nobody any favours.
