Rules:
Is Blender good to make a film? Sure. Many people do it.
Is making a film alone a good idea? Is such endeavour for somebody who is not patient?
Doughnut is 20+ videos, but doughnut is just the beginning. To make a movie you'll need much much more.
I'd say you should do two things:
Find out which part of film making you really want to do. Learn that part. Yes, it will be 20+ videos.
Look for other people to collaborate.

It’s not going to be significantly different from making a movie in another 3d program. If you want to make a computer animated movie (or just vfx for a filmed movie) it’s a solid choice.
Be aware that you need several specialized expertises to make all the parts of a movie yourself. The donut tutorial covers the basics of modeling and shading, but most of the work required for a movie will probably be in animation.

Ian Hubert is making some cool shit that's probably up your alley of what your looking to do, 3d is a fun hobby that can grow into a career if you're determine, just have fun with it.
