the connection between the two might be more subtle than you think. bird flu has already jumped to cows and non infectious virus particles were identified in supermarket pasteurised milk. RFK endorses raw milk and is anti vaxx. Go figure.

My favorite dichotomy is found on things like hurricane Helene posts. The same people who say humans aren't affecting the climate say the gov is manipulating the weather.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Shit.

I know shit's bad right now with all that starvin' bullshit. And the dust storms. And we runnin' out of French Fries and burrito coverings. But I got a solution.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Oh snap it's the man himself! I love you el presidente!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

The early bird flu gets the brain worm

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Remember that time when we elected a literal idiot to be president and a million Americans died because of how fucking stupid he was?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not So Fun fact:

Bird flu has killed 50% of the humans it's infected so far, and that same idiot is going to be back in charge.

And this time, our soon to be Secretary of Health has part of his brain eaten away by a worm.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Only the best people, folks!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 days ago

If you're speaking for the worm then I agree. I only enjoy the fattiest, juicy meat myself.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (3 children)

And then we prosecuted him for crimes, convicted him, and then sentenced him to live in government housing for the next 4 years?

Shhh, everything I said is true don't ruin it for me with facts.

We were averaging one 9/11 every three days during Trump's pandemic. And that's just counting the deaths directly attributed to COVID, with the CDC and a shitload of states playing "don't test, don't tell" plus the delayed deaths due to cardiac injury I'm betting the death numbers were closer to 5x reported.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

And yet people never even talk about it now. No memorial, no day of remembrance, no lessons learned, just right back into the arms of the seditious traitor who killed more Americans than all of our wars combined.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Yeah but it's not like we could bomb the virus so what are we gonna do? We're Americans, after all, the only thing we can do is wage war. War on drugs, war on crime, war on poverty, war for independence, war to end slavery, war on Mexico, war on Spain.

I still don't know why Kamela didn't just run ads reminding people of all those who aren't here because of Trump's handling of Covid.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

That would've been a terrible idea to remind them of that period. Voters hate the way it was handled and blame the dems for it. They were blaming Kamela for all sorts of things she had zero authority over.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 hours ago

Trump was literally voted out of office over it.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The democrats have all been Ned Stark in Kings Landing for a decade. Taking the high road doesn’t work against when the goal of the opposition is to slit your throat

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"Did you really think this piece of paper would protect you?" Is a perfect example of the Republican response to the DNC.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

It upsets me that in the time since I started making that analogy that show went from the hottest thing in the world to a case study in destroying an infinite money machine

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

...Can you explain the character better for those of ous who don't Game any thrones or Sing without fire and ice, thanks.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Spoilers I guess. Ned was an honorable man summoned to rule at advisor to the king in the capital. He plays the game of politics with honor and get his head cut off for it.

That's why this time the plan is to get rid of a health ministery before the next pandemic hits.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Can't have high pandemic casualties if the pandemic is fake news and you've dismantled the agency responsible for coordinating testing!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Hey let's do it again! I'll call 10 million of my fellow Democrats and tell them not to bother showing up to vote. It'll be fun!!!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Also, some lab monkeys escaped in Florida recently. So, it looks like we'll be starting another trump presidency with another pandemic. It'll probably wait until he eliminates the pandemic response team again before it hits.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Dont worry skroo!

Am I the only one who found a message of “hope” in Idiocracy? We start at a future dystopia approaching human extinction caused by following some of the worst trends in current society. Then a savior appears, and they’re smart enough to actually follow him? They’re able to overcome some of their worst natures and start on the road to recovery.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

I saw it and the journey to get there. Sad to be on this side of the journey.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

They were moments away from killing him.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

That's how you could tell it was fiction.

Silly Hollywood always insists on a happy ending.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I keep trying to tell people. We do not live in Idiocracy, Idiocracy is a fucking utopia compared to what our situation is

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Yeah stupid people wishing they had real solutions is a way better outcome than stupid people cheering for the worst outcomes thinking they are solutions

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, we don't masturbate nearly as much and the news anchors aren't hot

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

And they don't make Ow My Balls anymore.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Nah the stupidest timeline is simulation 28 where Elon Musk was able to capture the FDA and 30% of the US population was left mentally disabled by malfunctioning brain implants. Compared to those guys you're doing just fine simulation 19.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Dude, that's just what will happen in a couple years. There's no maybe about it.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Welcome to the kakistocracy

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Here we are, "Idiocracy .001", folks. We are at the point where they haven't even realized that they need a person with an actual brain. It will get worse, much worse. Maybe they will pick a pedophile for attorney general. Oh, wait.
