Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Summary

Mike Davis, a Trump adviser and possible nominee for attorney general, issued a threatening warning to New York Attorney General Letitia James, who sued Trump for business fraud, not to continue her legal actions against him in his second term, threatening to put her in prison.

Davis’s inflammatory remarks, including personal insults, come as James has vowed to defend Americans against any unconstitutional actions by the new administration.

Known for his extreme rhetoric, Davis has previously suggested punishing journalists and Trump’s political opponents harshly, though it’s often unclear when he’s serious.

Trump has hinted at a significant role for Davis in his administration.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't and voted against it. And tried to get as many people to join me as I could. I tried.

Only so much you can do when the majority of the country actively wanted a nightmare.

That’s the most disheartening part for me. I mailed mine in early and tried to convince everyone around me that not voting was worse. Well, this is what we get

Very professional and normal, not fascist at all.

This is the same guy who, earlier in the week, tweeted that he wanted to drag Democrat politician's "bloody, beaten bodies" through the street.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

He either has an urge to become Sisyphus or have a scarab for his spiritual animal for how he likes dragging stuff around. May he become one!

THOUGH IT IS OFTEN UNCLEAR WHEN HE'S SERIOUS????????

Can we just have a tiny little fucking bit of real journalism for one godamn second?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If you thought journalism was bad before, when they were only compromising their standards for money, just watch now that it’ll be money and threats.

Add him to the next case as knowing accomplice with criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice. He's publicly calling for a criminal act on an individual.

If someone makes threats you have to assume they’re serious and not just wave it away as “unclear”.

This is like when the State finally reveals that a domestic abuse victim had actually already contacted their local police force a dozen times before it was too late.

Disgusting. Shameful behavior.

It's a good reminder to all of us. The law is for us to follow, not for rich people or politicians. They can do whatever they want and get away with it.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

For the in-group, the law protects but does not bind. For the out-group, the law binds but does not protect.
