Incredible. How can companies have that much power? Buying a nuclear reactor as if it were a birthday gift.
Their billions of dollars in profit could've started this process decades ago. They're just doing it now because they need to keep pace with AI data processing demands. It's a net-zero strategy.

Not figured out here in the states. They just turn the site into a nuke waste dump.
There are actually relatively easy (easy compared to building a nuclear reactor) ways to deal with the waste that involve mixing it with concrete and glass so it can be safely stored in a way that won't impact the surrounding environment. If we're still around by the time that becomes too cumbersome we are hopefully space-faring and then yeeting it into Jupiter becomes an option.
