It's not straight lovecraftian, but if you love really weird alien horror shit I'd highly recommend .

"cosmic horror... is a subgenre of horror fiction and weird fiction that emphasizes the horror of the unknowable and incomprehensible more than gore or other elements of shock... themes of cosmic dread, forbidden and dangerous knowledge, madness, non-human influences on humanity, religion and superstition, fate and inevitability, and the risks associated with scientific discoveries... the sense that ordinary life is a thin shell over a reality that is so alien and abstract in comparison that merely contemplating it would damage the sanity of the ordinary person, insignificance and powerlessness at the cosmic scale..."

I need to finish this. I watched a couple episodes and really enjoyed the crazy alien world, but the whole plot being driven without any dialog or anything made it feel super slow to me, idk. And it’s not just the dialog thing because I was hooked on Primal after the second episode or so.
It's a show don't tell type of world building, yes. Not strictly what you want to watch when you're overly tired, otherwise you'll miss everything.
Thanks for mentioning this! Loving the world so far.
Like an Abyss reboot, with a darker twist.
I even watched this a second time.
I have conflicting feelings about this one. The plot and the photography was amazing but something in the direction and the cast simply didn't stuck with me. Still a good syfy horror.
I'll be sure to check it out for spooktober
This film is great. Would have been even better without T J Miller's character in it but, hey, never mind.
