MODERATORS

  • Trump said if he were elected, he would stop sending California federal firefighting aid unless Gov. Gavin Newsom enacted his policies.
  • The president of the California Professional Firefighters union blasted the remarks as ‘shocking.’

The president of the California Professional Firefighters union said this weekend that former President Trump “should be ashamed” of his threat to withhold federal firefighting aid to the state if he were elected.

Brian K. Rice, president of the California Professional Firefighters union, which represents more than 35,000 firefighters, said in a statement Saturday evening that it “is shocking that we have a presidential candidate who is threatening our public safety.”

His rhetoric is dangerous, his ideas on public safety are dangerous, and his ignorant rhetoric has grown exponentially,” Rice said.

I'm sure if given the chance Trump would make police and fire coverage only available to people who voted for him...

And who pay a hefty monthly subscription fee. Directly to Trump.

You wouldn't want something bad to happen to your forests would you?

And if they don't pay, he makes vague threats on social media and his cult starts fires everywhere.

I don't even know how to process that. "If the governor doesn't play ball, a bunch of people nowhere near Sacramento should die in a fire?"

It's bribery and extortion, which is as far as I am aware still very much illegal for everyone.

It's also standard operating procedure for Congress/government. Highway funds were tied to making the drinking age 21. Obamacare tied medicaid funds to expanding it's coverage. Medicare routinely decreases reimbursement and adds programs that are required for providers to get paid at around previous rates.

It’s all his supporters up in the hills that catch on fire anyways. California had more people vote for Donald Trump than anywhere else. Every time he threatens them and they clap I have to wonder if they realize they’re hurting themselves in their own confusion. (Short answer, they don’t)

California % of federal taxes paid is higher than the % of federal funding received when including all states

If this shocks you, you have been asleep at the wheel slice 2015 at least.

So on one hand he says the decision should be left to the states, but then he forces the states to follow his agenda... Ahh I see what he is doing..this is scary stuff.

Remember that time he threatened to withhold money from Ukraine unless they did what he wanted?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

He threatened to withhold pandemic aid to states. He's a monster.

We need to get this fun information to Northern California and Eastern Oregon. Neither state is in danger of voting for him but it should definitely cause some consternation in the conservative sphere.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

He's not capable.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

Lmao. Trump being capable of feeling shame.

I spruce up your title a bit. I think your going to like it.

~~California firefighters' union:~~ Trump should 'be ~~a~~shamed'~~over threat to withhold firefighting aid~~
