Looks like Reddit has been down for the last 30'ish minutes. I'm wondering if they're either trying to change some platform features while using the blackout as a distraction, or if they're working to recover some of the larger subreddits who have entered the protest.

Or who knows, maybe they have decided to join the blackout themselves? /s

"Blackout? There's no blackout. In fact we had so much traffic today that our servers couldn't handle it! Also Reddit users love me and think I'm awesome."

Just seems like part of the "find out" protocol.

Seems like a distraction or coverup of some sort. Behind the scenes, maybe reverting to a backup?

Why care about it anymore? They have showed their true faces. We can talk about monetization but they can't treat their community the way they did.

Once people discover lemmy there is no going back.
