Maybe related to dynamic scaling on their servers? Not sure how typical a large drop-off in traffic is to a site as big as reddit.

How would a drop in traffic bring a site down? That doesn‘t make any sense.
Must have ran out money. Oh well.
Still works on my RIF app though.
I wonder if Reddit have done this to get themself some more free publicity (to appeal to the sympathetic person reading it in the news to try and make it feel more important a platform than it is)?
