I think the main issue with Google Glass was the creepiness factor of the camera. I feel for mainstream adoption, these devices shouldn't include a camera, at least initially.

However, I personally haven't heard much negative reaction to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Perhaps because they are so inconspicuous, people don't realize they have cameras in them?

Yes they could. Considering how long VR took to become more common, we still got like 15y. Now is not the time.

Google Glass is from the early 2010s 2013/2014 ish. People have gotten (for better or worse) way more used to having cameras everywhere in public
