Pointing out, fighting, spreading awareness about State sponsored and Company sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.
You'll know it's their bot because the account is suspended and the profile page can't be viewed. They deliberately get the account shadowbanned and manually approve the posts from the moderator queue so users can't scrutinize the account's post history. I suspect they're buying upvotes because the posts frequently make it to the front page despite top comments being critical of the message.
That sub became a right wing propaganda sub if I recall correctly.
I see some lefty stuff too from the bots. Maybe it's just a lure.
Kind of off-topic, but when you consider the fact disability benefits for people unable to work due to disability are 8k per year in america, calling 150k lower middle class is crazy!
FluentInFinance is basically just some botfarm made to pump some randos' newsletter. When I see the exact same posts on r/all as often as I do, even though I barely use the site, I just assume that people are either too busy arguing to question it, or anyone who notices it gets banned for mentioning it.
The latter is correct. Automod quietly hides any comments containing words and language commonly used to point out what they're doing. I'm astounded the site admins let such boldness fly.
