associated with lower risks for tobacco use disorder-related health care measures, including reduced smoking cessation medication prescriptions and counseling.

At no point do they use the word "quitting", for a reason. Cessation isn't the same as quitting, and it's not even straight up helping with cessation. It's "reduced smoking cessation medication". Some of those medications are pretty much the same as weight loss drugs, (and some actually exactly the same, being used for both) as they're both dopamine antagonists, because nicotine and food are as well.

Tldr oversimplify if you give people already on amphetamines more amphetamines, some of them will go "gosh, this is quite a few amphetamines, I think I'll have fewer"

So glad these are out there! Nicotine is my fav chemical and I'd never stop it, but it's nice to know there is a new way if I change my mind. Last time I had to temporarily quit Wellbutrin helped as well, it's a nice stim in general, not quite amph but more like a low key methylphenidate

Why would you willingly like nicotine?

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Why not? It's a nice stim. It helps me focus better than coffee and maintains my attention span for a lot longer that it normally is. I used to struggle with ADHD and still do, and nico keeps the stuff at bay in a way that amph alone just doesn't.

Drugs are just drugs, they're not bad in and of themselves, if you misuse them they can be bad, and some things are more bad than good more often than not (just as we're now finding out with THC), but there's nothing actually wrong with taking drugs you benefit from.

Well, as long as you aren't smoking I guess it isn't that bad.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Not really bad for you at all honestly. Smoking anything sucks though big doodoo energy.

Yeah, that's why I asked.
