What brands do you avoid at all cost? I don't keep up with the news all that much, and many of the reasons to avoid something don't make it there anyway. So I'm asking here to make a big list of things to avoid. It could be anything from bad security practices to really frustrating packaging. Working as a cashier myself, I definitely know there are plenty of brands I avoid purely on the basis that their product is a pain to stock.

On the flip side, what's the alternative? If you avoid Pepsi, for example, what do you turn to instead?

Nestle to start

I'll have to edit and add to this as I remember since I didn't write a list beforehand

Edit:
Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Nike, Kelloggs,

Definitely Nestle...

Aww shit, what's wrong with Kellogg? I'm already avoiding the rest, but I've somehow missed whatever horrible shit they are up to.

Blizzard

They fucked me over for not adhering to their real name policy on their account, and locked me out of games that I had owned until I would send a copy of my passport to them. Not for age verification, not for suspected cheating, but for making sure my name is my real name. Just because that's their policy

Fuck you, you don't need my real life ID for playing a goddamn game.

I vowed never to give any money to them ever again, and kept that promise. That's around 10 years ago now. Such a shame, they (used to) make the best games. I love well produced, high polished takes on an existing concept.

Seems like you're thinking mostly of things like grocery brands, but top of my hit list is Hasbro. They send Pinkertons after their customers and fuck over third party publishers. And they're kindof making an Olympic sport of enshittifying their brands.

Bayer: Used slave Labour in Nazi Germany

Infected Jews and used them for drug tests from concentration camps until they died.

Illegally pressure doctors to use their drugs off-label

Used US prisoners to extract blood products and sold them without testing infecting millions with hepatitis, HIV and AIDS all over the world. When they realised blood products were tainted, instead of destroying them they just sold them to Africa instead.

Surely a company that has done all this would be sued into oblivion, but thanks to the company being restructured multiple times it’s apparently too complicated to bring them to justice.

Uline starting today. Just learned the Uihlein family is a major Trump donor.

That will be difficult for me, but certainly worth it. Thanks for sharing. I didn't know.

I heard annoying Panini radio commercial once and swore to never buy one and so far I never have.

I don't buy Anheuser Busch products including smaller breweries they've swallowed up. I was a Devils Backbone fan until they sold to InBev.
