I am sure the executives at Samsung are infinitely more qualified than a random commentator, but I wonder how smart this is in the long term (especially with some the recent reports on the lack of revenue streams in "AI" tech/features).

Don't be so sure of yourself. Anything C-Suite+ is basically nepo hires running on autopilot. You, a consumer, are probably infinitely more in tune with market demands than the 1% executives of one of the most corrupt and richest corporations in history.
