I loved it, from start to end. It gets a bit out there at the end though, some people might get disappointed.
Cyberpunk
What is Cyberpunk?
Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). If the punks aren’t actively fighting against a megacorp, they’re still dealing with living in a world completely dependent on high technology.
Cyberpunk characteristics include:
- Dystopian city setting where mega-corporations rule
- Full integration of technology into society, featuring cybernetic implants
- Outsider protagonists (punks) who often are very familiar with the technology around them
- Hard boiled detective and film noir vibes and influence
- Themes dabbling in trans-humanism, existentialism, and what it means to be human.

The ending can't be for everyone, but I love that they went there. Pantheon was a very ambitious show and pays homage to so many sources of inspiration like Ray Kurzweil's The Singularity is Near and the nearly ubiquitous anime, End of Evangelion. One of the best shows I've ever seen that almost nobody talked about.
Fantastic show that I’ve been recommending left and right since I saw it a few months ago. It goes further than you think it will, and I believe thats what really elevates it from a story about AI to a story about ‘humanity’
Probably one of the best sci-fi shows created in the last few decades. It’s smart, deep, and engaging. You might need to get through a few first episodes if high school drama is not your jam, but after that you will be hooked.
I've been wanting to watch this show but it's never available for streaming in the US. 😞
Amazon???
And just pirate it.
