Just wait until we r/efugees get used to it and start being more active.

Oh, and if anyone converts one of the bigger reddit apps to lemmy usage, it'll bump things again because not everyone knows jerboa exists.

I'd love to get Apollo xD

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Jerboa doesn't seem to be working for me, it opens every post on Firefox for whatever reason and then I'm jumping between the app and browser.

Dude, I'm not even unpacked yet. Give me a sec.

Old habits die hard. Getting used to the more inclusive, positive environment. It feels weird...and warm.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Just like peeing your pants! Ahh, got to love positivity.

Ill have you know I created a community AND made 2 posts!

Holy efficiency

Honestly I've posted more to Lemmy in the last couple days than I have on Reddit in the last 8 years - it's easier because Lemmy feels like a smaller place... Like announcing yourself to a small room of people vs getting on a soapbox on a crowded main street.

On Reddit I always felt like anything I'd have to say would be completely pointless, because who scrolls down 1000 comments anyhow?

As for posts... The threshold does feel lower here.

that's a pretty nice way of putting it. i saw someone else saying that it's feeling like the forums from back in the day

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago

I'm mostly a lurker, even on Reddit. For now, I'm watching various communities and trying to figure it out.

Joining new communities like this is an amazing excuse to contribute more! I am/was in the same boat as you, but for a new thing to skyrocket it needs interaction, and that's what we can do!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm trying! I'm just busy. But the fediverse is awesome. I'm sad I didn't know about it sooner.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

To be fair. There wasn't much here before the redditpocalypse.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Lurkers don't make content, and that seems to be the only thing Lemmy is light on. The 'do something' crowd will be more visible after July 1 when their apps die.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

Hi.

There, I did something.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I'm new in town too! Anyone wanna help me move the armoire from the back of the van?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

But I feel so exposed!
(just kidding, I'm trying.)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I'm working on it! I just got here! Still learning the ropes and which communities are here or not.

I’m hoping for a mobile app to be released soon. I used Apollo on iOS for probably 90% of my Reddit usage.

@BacardiT @Kalkaline
A lemmy app? i found a post here that mentioned some, you seem to be on IOS, the post mentioned two IOS compatible clients
Memmy and Mlem
Mlem seems to be the more popular and complete one but currently both are on TestFlight,
i don't really know anything bout any of them tho, never used IOS before so i have no idea which one is better, it's probably better if you look into them yourself if you're interested
the mentioned post: https://lemmy.world/post/37906
(you can find links to both of these clients and the most famous android client one too in this post)
