anyone got any good recommendations for where to get a sturdy long lasting couch? looking for a 2 + 3 seater +/- recliner. time to replace our 8 year old ikea options
So one of the things I found out while cleaning out the garage was that my old childhood teddy had been left out there - and of course in a spot where it leaked ๐.
A soak and then a run through the washing machine on a gentle cycle didn't shift the dirt, so I tried putting him in another pillowcase and running the normal cycle - which got the dirt out but also half the stuffing.
Any suggestions for repairs? I seem to remember there was a discussion recently about it.
You can try and work out where the hole is and re-stuff him then sew him up.
Here's a good guide. https://www.instructables.com/Stuffed-Animal-Restoration/
However a seam ripper might be safer than an exacto knife if you have one. Pick a relatively straight/flat seam to open just to make it easy on yourself when closing him back up. I'd also recommend not wringing his skin out but rolling it in a towel and pressing that under a book to remove water, and then air drying. (Wringing can stretch out fabric and dryers can cause shrinkage or permanent shiny spots where the faux fur got flat ironed against the hot drum.)
If you feel a bit out of your depth or don't want to take your chances you can take him to the Doll Hospital https://thedollhospital.com.au/
This back shoulder pain is hurting a lot more tha. I thought. I barely even know what I did to get this.
Taken some nurofen and had put a hot pack on it.
Iโm in quite a bit of discomfort. Hope the nurofen kicks in soon.
Get checked at a physio if it's still bad in a day or so. The Melbourne sports medicine centre has an physio by the name of Simon Nelson.
I swear by this guy. He figured out what was wrong with my neck after other physios were telling me "it's all in your head".
It wasn't. My shoulder was out of alignment.
Update on the garlic bread:
It turned out well. Very crispy. Honestly this is my new favourite way to cook them
Vape Warehouse, in the middle of the Chemist Warehouse...
And all the small vape shops who aren't selling black market vapes to kids get shutdown while chemist fucking warehouse gets the profits.
I am so fucking disappointed in this government.

I bought a puck light from Reject shop for the kids to play with. I thought they'd all be the same but apparently 'you get what you pay for applies here too'.
The button is already busted and hard to press, and the magnet can barely hold the weight of the light itself. That's the sort of thing I assumed would be the same everywhere
I had a bunch of these from Ikea when the kids were little. Very useful when the kids awoke in the middle of the night. They were strategically placed around the house, I remember one being in the kitchen another in the bathroom. One in their room.
They were <$5, used 3x AAA batteries that lasted ages and had great magnets. If you have a real use for them, I recommend the Ikea ones. Of course, the real challenge with Ikea is actually walking in and out and only buying the $5 you went in there for. I've never managed it.
I recently bought a medium size candle from a dollar store, cost $5, it won't burn properly because the wick is too thin for the wide candle. This is a bit of manufacturing cost cutting that is surprising and annoying.

Did I dream frozen baby green beans because I can't find them for like forever? I don't need my beans cut for me, thanks. Maybe they were stunted ordinary beans and I got sucked in.
