Are we checking? This is a place to take a p*ss out of motorsports.

F1 is not the only motorsport in the world, so go ahead and post your shitposts about WEC or MotoGP or IndyCar or ralley or Polish Speedway or whatever. Even Formula E, I guess. It needs some love, too.

By the way, F2 > F1.

Rules? What rules? Stop inventing. Just don't be a douche. Lemmy.world's sporting conduct applies.

I started getting into F1 a bit more in the past couple of years.

I remember thinking it might be a cool idea to try and go along to a race at Silverstone. Seemed like it would be a good day out.

Took one look at the prices and resigned myself to probably never going to an F1 race in my life, unless I suddenly come into vast amounts.of sustained wealth.

I've been watching my whole life and I've never seen a race live. I imagine it's a really cool event, but something like the British GP at least is more like a festival (holiday-level cost, camping, drinking, sun and rain, side events) where you get to half-watch the race (with much less detail than you'd see on the telly!)

Rather go to Goodwood instead.

If I can offer some advice, just go on a Friday or Saturday. Way lower prices, it gives you a pretty good feel for the atmosphere, and there will probably be support series doing something as well. Watching races live is not very good anyway, it is not so easy to tell what is going on like on TV.

This will be my first ever year attending a race (Las Vegas) and it was admittedly only possible due to a decent disposable income that happened to line up. I can imagine how many people want to attend but can’t because their favorite track is impossibly expensive or the more “affordable” tickets being out of travel distance.

Both is true.

There verstappen dominance has lowered the relative value of the seats, but the prices haven’t changed.

Also, capitalists are fucking ghouls, feasting on the corpse of anything that might bring anyone joy.
