Ehhhh. A bit late considering that Germany tried to get other countries to contribute a while ago without success. But better late than never I guess.

Country size of Germany should be more worried about manufacturing and delivering equipment under their own name.

Maybe halt deliveries to KSA and Israel... you know since there is a war in Europe...

Germany gave up 1/3 of their Patriots for Ukraine, along Iris-T SLM, Iris-T SLS, Gepards and Skyrangers. And if "size" is so important to you (compensating?), support by GDP of Germany is about twice as much as that of the US. You're welcome.

US has 40k troops stationed within Germany to defend it against Russia for which Germany does not pay... and frankly, this is a Europe problem, not US, anyway.

Germany has nothing to stand on right now. Merkel leadership go it cornered to where Germany was forced by its allies to get its act straight. You don't get praised for blundering and then half assing the job until 1-2 years into the war.

Just STFU and deliver materiel, until then Germany's reputation and geopolitcal standing is tarnished as an unreliable ally who is willing to sacrifice European security for cheap Russian gas so it can profit.

The US has troops in Germany because they want to. If they want to defend Europe against Russia, they should maybe sent them to a country that borders Russia. But this is one of the many garbage talking points you people try make reality for several years now.

Merkel hasn't been chancellor for years. No idea what the rest of your incoherent babbling is supposed to mean.

We do, we're literally the largest supporter of Ukraine in Europe, by a long shot - to the point where they make the US look weak in comparison. And sorry to disappoint, but we haven't bought any Russian gas for like a year now. Speaking of unreliable ally... Who didn't sent any aid for half a year, supporting the Russian invasion with that move? Who forced Ukraine to give up their nukes and bombers for some half assed security agreements?

Not to blame anyone here, especially romanians, but the feeling of being stuck somewhen in Covid times that's shared by most people online gets multiplied by these facts of supplying Ukraine two+ year into war. By summer there would be 80 F16 warplanes too, and that's better than nothing, but it seems everyone and these officials included are in some kind of a sleep they rarely wake up from.

@Wilshire
The poor US military has only over 100 left that are sitting idle.

The poor US military has only over 100 left that are sitting idle.

Citation needed. In 2022 the US had 50 Batteries spread between 16 Battalions. It's pretty unlikely we've more than doubled that number in the last 18 months, let alone built that many just to have them sitting around doing nothing.

The damn things cost 1.1 Billion each to build plus another 690 Million to fully load for a combined total (each) of something like 1.7 Billion dollars or 170 Billion dollars for 100 of them. There's no way the US Army, which is who operates the Patriots, fit that into their 2023 Budget. It's simply not possible.
