SDRconnect - New Software for SDRPlay Devices (www.sdrplay.com)

After a long wait, SDRPlay finally released a preview version of SDRconnect, their new cross-platform software for all SDRPlay SDR receivers except the rsp1. This release includes native network streaming, meaning you can set up 2 devices running SDRconnect, 1 in server mode with the SDR plugged in, and the other remotely connected via the network.

Awesome, I have been patiently waiting for this release. Can't wait to try it out on the Mac.

I got this working today with it running on a Pi as a server and on a Mac mini (M2 pro chip) as a client. Works very nicely. It fails on my Ubuntu machine though but never mind, early days, and it might just be my config.

It works, but it's closed source and pretty basic. I just wish they would release an open source driver.

Agreed about wishing it would be open source. The most usable OSS combo I've found for using my rspdx over a network is SoapySDR and CubicSDR and CubicSDR hasn't had a release since Feb 2022.

I'm forcing myself to remember that this is just essentially a beta release, with a lot of features missing. With as long as it took them to release this version, I'm not holding my breath to get new features any time soon though.

SDR++ seems to work the best with my RSP1A, I still have to use a closed source driver that hasn't been updated since Dec 2019. At least the driver works fairly well, but sometimes it locks up and the sdrplay service has to be restarted.

The Android driver, on the other hand, is completely broken. It usually crashes within 5 minutes and it only supports up to 2msps. They haven't updated it since Feb 2019.
