Bought these earbuds originally in 2019 and I have not been disappointed.

I have tried several other types and brands but none of them come close to the sound quality or durability of these bad boys!

The noise cancellation is also fantastic on them as well as the battery life.

They're a bit hard to track down now as Samsung have stopped selling them and only sell the newer versions, unfortunately.

Be aware that some of the newer versions do not fit airtight in the ears, which means no noise cancellation.

I've also recently tried Google Buds and the difference between the audio quality is night and day. Where the Google Buds are tinny with no noise cancellation, the Samsung Buds are deep and rich, with fantastic noise cancellation.

Overall, highly recommended!

Worthwhile thread, but I also feel like by definition true wireless buds cannot be BIFL sadly. I don't think a single model from any manufacturer has replaceable batteries or parts, so every single set will be ultimately disposable after a couple years.

I've also been using these and I've had no issues with them. The noise cancelling is NOT active for those thinking about them.

Mic is decent and I got them for a fair price on sale. I'm pretty sure the buds 2 are better in every aspect though.

Hand-me-down Airpods. I had a pair of the original galaxy buds, but i lost those a few months ago and I'm still bummed about it

I never loved the fit of the original airpod. I've never tried airpod pros though.

I don't love them (original) but they work decently, especially when combined with CAPod

They sound great but be aware that they can get clogged with earwax really easily and at that point they'll sound really muffled and you'll need to open them to clean them, which is a pita.

Thank you, I was actually looking for durable, high quality earbuds. Do you happen to know if the battery is replaceable somehow?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No idea as I haven't had any problems with them yet, but the case doesn't seem like you could take it apart very easily :/

Yeah, that's the main problem for me. It drives me crazy that I have to trash something that still works just because of a stupid battery. Sadly not even fairphone buds (or whatever they're called) have a replaceable battery as of now

For me, it is the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live. Shaped like beans, the best part is that they don't plug your ear canal. They have "active noise cancelation" but they do little when they aren't sealed, I'd rather that they enhanced things like speech or could recognize different sorts of alarms and alerts, muting the playing audio for potential alerts. I know that's a strange feature few others would probably want. They are absolutely the most comfortable things I've ever worn and I wish Samsung would release an update with better batteries and support for non-Samsung devices, or some other manufacturer would release a competing product that brings those better audio codecs. There are some other "open ear" type of designs, but still nothing which really competes in the space.

What functions only work with Samsung devices? Is it just the ‘360 sound’ thing?

Haven't tried them, but fairbuds should be repairable
