JSON.parse: unexpected character

I keep getting this error code when I try to upload photos, even if I save them from paint. It happens if it's png or jpg. Can someone help me?

I had this too. You have to scale the image down.

I think there is a size limit, but they don't tell you what it is :P

I managed to upload images ~1MB in size.

Really I think the image should be auto-resized, as this is a PITA for users.

I use Lensdump but, yeah, we should try and take the load off the server if possible.

I normally upload to pixelfed.social and then create a jpg link to share to Lemmy.
