More like living his best life. Good for him for being able to. Some people are so suppressed they are never able to fully realize their true selves. Don't hate because one person is able to have something that others are not.

A source cited on german wikipedia claims that "Ludwig Victor tried to make contact with an attractive young man and got slapped". But don't take it as fact, it also says that many different versions of the story are being told.
