Oh hey which ideapad is this? How's firefox hardware acceleration for video? I'm getting fed up with my 2016 Asus with i5-7200U and looking for something less annoying.

It's an IdeaPad 1 from 2020 (Ryzen 3 7000 series) Firefox hw acceleration is good even better than windows

Yeah. My intel integrated gpu shat itself yet again and refuses to run anything better than 720@30. I am hunting for a good deal, and AMD is high on my list.

Ryzen laptop are pretty cheap but I recommend you wait until the 8000 series show up

Likely wont be cheaper tho. And according to benchmarks differences between 5000 and 7000 series are negligible. Both outperform my current APU by 5-6 times :)
