Oh no! Someone doing exactly what Qualcomm and Broadcom have been doing for decades! What will we do!

Undocumented hardware is theft of ownership. Start with the American companies. This is why all phones depreciate and must be replaced.

Raspberry π is proprietary too. The Broadcom chip does not have a full datasheet with all registers documented including 3/4 of the entire die. The question is kernel support and starting a project on hardware with an orphan kernel seems dumb IMO. What am I missing?
