TL;DR: No sleep = tired = low energy = eating for energy = overeating

I feel this, too. I’m averaging 4-5 hours/night. I know that I eat at night to get energy to stay awake and carry on.

I feel you, i went to my doctor's cause I could seem to lose weight even though I was eating at a caloric deficit, he told me that was what we used to think but we've learned more since then and suggested I started researching the effects of exhaustion on weight gain.
