Or revanced on Android
or firefox + ublock on android
Or GrayJay on Android.
Absolutely essential. SponsorBlock is very nearly as important, and BlockTube also does a lot of annoyance damage control.
firefox too, chrome is about to gimp adblockers
What is the easiest way to get YouTube with UBlock and SponsorBlock on a LG TV? I don’t care about any other smart TV features, already have a Jellyfin server.
Some little device plus some installer…?
Maybe have a look into this? https://github.com/webosbrew/youtube-webos Though it does requires WebOS Homebrew Channel
Else I found a firestick works fine with SmartTube , but it's got all that amazon bloat over it so perhaps a raspberry pi would be better instead
For webOS Homebrew Channel, if you have a pre-2022 firmware then you can go to rootmy.tv and it installs the homebrew channel as part of the process
Maybe FCast and then using GrayJay if you have an Android device? It's an option, but there's probably an easier way.
No android device. Looking for something I can plug into a HDMI port and control with a remote, not depend on a phone.
Then any Chromecast or Firestick device that runs the Android TV OS will work fine. Just have to sideload the SmartTube app. Directions will vary by device, but it's generally not too tough.
I believe the best cost to feature value is Walmart's one. Don't recall the name at the moment.
The second my ad blocker stops working is the second I kiss YouTube goodbye forever
Freetube/Newpipe/Libretube
I HATE IT
Mozilla Firefox with ublock works both on your PC and phone. You can disable the YouTube app so it opens all links in Firefox by default.
