Block bug? (lemmy.world)
submitted 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

How does blocking work? I have blocked a few users and this seems to work but today I noticed that one of them replied to a comment that was made to my comment. So not directly to me but to the one who replied my comment. How should it work? Id assume that my comment and any child comments would be hidden to accounts that i have blocked.

Blocking just hides their content from you. AFAIK, It doesn't hide your content from them.

It doesn't make much sense that a post should be anonymously accessible to the general public, but not accessible to specific individuals. If that were a thing, it would be easily bypassed with a client that requests content anonymously. Such a client would likely have a feature to identify such blocking attempts.

I thought they are hidden to you, no?

I can see them if i expand the thread in my inbox but they are indeed hidden to me if i open the comment three of the post.

That said i had expected that blocking a user, would hide my content from said userjas?well as hide their content from me
