If it doesn't have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor I probably won't get it. I hate the one on my Pixel 7.

Tbh they don't even need to be ultrasonic. Samsung seem to manage good optical fingerprint sensors, but for some reason Google still can't seem to get it right.

Does anyone know why vendors keep using crappy UD fingerprint sensors? The power button scanner in some Redmi phones was the best type of scanner I've ever used. Literally, I pull out my phone from my pocket already unlocked.

The fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone is literally the best place for it and it was faster on the Pixel 2 than it is on the 8.

And combine that with a face unlock for when your phone is on a table, and there's actual usability.

I'm on Pixel 7 Pro and after this winter (dry hands) I'm leaning towards iPhone. I'm so sick of failing the fingerprint scanner 3-4 times before having to resort to the pin code.

FaceID worked so well on the Pixel 4 XL - why isn't any Android manufacturer picking it up??

Still stuck on my 3a XL waiting in vain for a headphone jack...
