Freedom to do what exactly

[–] [email protected] 22 points 8 months ago

Freedom to be serfs of the USA usually

[–] [email protected] 16 points 8 months ago

Its how free the bourgeoisie are to commodify the population.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago

How free you are to gain influence and do whatever you want inside that country as a wealthy foreign Westerner or business, if you go by that measure then the map is actually very accurate.

free to loot

[–] [email protected] 21 points 8 months ago

The liberal definition of freedom has always primarily been about the freedom of the wealthy to exploit the poor.

We should start calling them Tom Clancy maps or Tom Clancy index.

Also separate Crimea and "East Donbass"

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

The eastern Donbass was independent at the time but it's weird to put Crimea as separate from Russia AND Ukraine. They also do a similar thing with Kashmir.

It would be much closer if they add disclaimer that "free" here is as in "how close to free it is for US ruling class to acquire"

Having been to Costa Rica I know exactly why they to get to be dark green, they readily accept US dollars and have their economy based around catering to Western tourists while locals live in shantytowns in homes that are barred up like prison cells.

I love my all Freedom. Started collecting them from a young age. Always been a fan. Wish I knew better as a kid and didn’t open some original foil booster packs. The pre-9/11 ones go for a lot nowadays. But I still have over 300 in almost mint condition, including a holographic misprint Freedom, the one with three WTC buildings on it if you can believe it.

the one with three WTC buildings on it if you can believe it.

Including the one which crumbled for no reason and part of gold stored in it disappeared? Now that's rarity.

Do you want to trade freedoms? I have 3 copies of freedom of press and 5 copies of economic freedom if u're interested, always kept them in a sleeve.

How is this index calculated? Is it pluralism? Because then China would be more “free” than the US.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago

I don’t know, other than they start with their conclusion and work backward to construct metrics to fit it. Hannah Arendt would be proud.

According to their own biaises China has absolute zero pluralism because it's a "one party state"

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

China - 1 party - dictatorship

US - 2 parties - democracy

Russia - 8 parties - dictatorship

the numbers don't lie

George W. Bush: Glances away nervously

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

How tf would you say Iran is more free than China.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago

tfw you attemp to make your map more believable by purposefully lowering your freedumb index to own the tankies
