I need to get a second phone for work. I’m set on a galaxy as I’m really interested in dex mode.

How is getting an s22 used these days? Are there any common problems I should be on the lookout for? Also, the battery health in some screenshots shows 32%, etc. does that mean the battery needs to be replaced right away? This will be my first Android.

I am usually more worried about the phone being in some blacklist or not, this has always been one of my issues with the used phone market.

On to your question - 32% battery health seems pretty bad. I just replaced my s22 ultra that I used quite heavily for the last 2 years, it is at 86% battery Healthy.

Thanks! There are like a billion being sold where I live so it should be pretty easy to find a better one.

Also, I don’t think we have a blacklist here 3rd world country.

Thanks for letting me know about the battery thing. I really had no idea what is considered good or bad.

32% battery health is impressive. I have phones that have kept on a charger for 4 years straight with better battery health. How the hell did they manage that?

I’m guessing it’s a faulty battery. I’m in a third world country and there is a large electronics resell market. They also do all kind of repairs there with after market parts. So who knows😅

I don't even know what you could do to make the battery that awful that quickly and not be physically damaged. Like I'm legitimately baffled.

Maybe someone left it baking in the sun it's entire life? I've never tried leaving batteries at like 140f (60c) all day. Honestly I'd really like to know how it's physically possible.

My phone is a S22, and it's fine. Very responsive, camera is very good. Dex is impressive, work reliable and pretty well.

I would have gone newer, but the price is significantly higher for an s23, almost double.

But as long as it has reasonable battery life I’m OK.

I’ll mainly use my iPhone 15 and I’m work from home, so I’ll rarely be away from power while using it.

I’ll search again though, maybe I don’t look hard enough.
