I've heard of similar issues caused by magnets, either on some wrist accessoire or on the desk below the laptop. So maybe that or the lid sensor is dieing and misfires.
On another note: Windows 5??

Could also be the power button incorrectly thinking it's being pressed.
Hm it so far happened at work and on my couch, and I don't wear wrist things, but good to keep in mind, thanks.
Yeah im afraid of the lid sensor being broken, prolly not an easy fix. Then I'll have to resort to changing the lid settings and manually sleeping i guess.
Oh and "5" was a typo lol, i probably had the laptop series on my mind.
You can try cleaning around the button. Make sure it isn’t being triggered by some crusty sweat/grime. You could also change the behavior of your laptop, in the windows power settings you can change what that button does or how the laptop reacts when being closed. If both are set to do nothing, you would have to specifically turn off/sleep your computer but wouldn’t get any false sleep.
Ah, cleaning the button is a good and practical idea, I'll give that a shot
And idd, worst case would be changing the settings, but I'm used to using lid for sleep, so if it's fixable that had my preference.
