I'm curious what the market for a a bright and cheery souls-like game is. On one hand it seems like people really like the dark and oppressive atmosphere of those games but on the other all of the best ones are made by fromsoft and that's just their MO. Lies of P had some success and it was walking that line. I guess we'll have to see how this does

I'm really looking forward to it. The only reason I don't enjoy souls games is because I hate their gloomy emo setting, so this looks right up my alley.
Tbh, this is the first non-From soulslike I have been interested in. Love the gameplay format, but if you're gonna knock it off, at least give of a bit more of a unique flair to make it stand out. There are so many FromSoft soulslikes there really isn't much room for games that try to emulate it too closely, imo.
YouTuber IronPineapple played this in his Soulslike series and was impressed by it. With games like Tunic seeing success I think there is a market for this sort of thing.
That was actually the best game of the whole showcase.
