Thanks for the reply. I guess I haven't had that happen to me yet with videos I'm looking for again having gone private.
I'm also not interested in crappy, privacy-invading, ad-shoving YouTube apps, which is why I mentioned SmartTube. In case you haven't heard of it, it's FOSS and has AdBlock & SponsorBlock integrated. It's designed for TV use. If Tube Archivist fits your need though, that's great.
My wife is using Smarttube on a TV that has one of there Chromecast dongles, but our main LG TV doesn't have that option.
I've been using FreeTube through Windows on a MiniPC, but it's not an elegant solution. LOL It does work, though.
You may be able to root the LG TV and use https://github.com/webosbrew/youtube-webos, which supports ad blocking and sponsorblock. Or you could install it with developer mode, but developer mode has a limited session time.
