Sexual assult is the usual argument.
It's a private space that can't be monitored with surveillance.
Whether or not that is a good argument is debatable.
Personally I do know a number of people who have been sexually assaulted / raped in club bathrooms.
Were those bathrooms gendered though? I think the argument that shared bathrooms lead to more sexual assault needs some scientific backing.
I get that you're just paraphrasing the arguments of others btw.
I think gendered bathrooms may make sexual assaults easier, because a man invading a women's bathroom knows there won't be a strong man to knock him down.
That's what I was thinking
SA van only be prevented with education. Gengered signs won't stop it. Those signs just make lines longer. I could be wrong but gender neutral toilets could deter sexual assaulters as they might noe know who is where.
