Image description: A young woman with vibrant red hair is seated at a table, engrossed in her surroundings. She's dressed in a casual white shirt, which contrasts with her hair. In her hands, she holds a cup of coffee, taking a sip from it. The setting appears to be a cozy café, with a window in the background that lets in soft, natural light. The mood of the image is relaxed and peaceful, capturing a quiet moment of enjoyment.

I'm gonna get a fucking aneurysm if I have to continue to read those stupid ass fucking names like "can" or "freezing" ...
My condolences, the names are all like that. It's a great series though. I can't recommend it enough.
I just can't. Most anime is cringe as fuck already with all its childish tropes and this is just too much for me to even try. I absolutely hate adjective names and Japan already has this tendency to completely rape the German language.
This one's different, I promise, no cringe or childish tropes. One of the best of all time. You don't have to take my word for it, look it up with a publication you trust.
The names are already cringe. And after cringing myself through one episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood I'm kinda distrusting towards anime suggestions.
Damn, well this one isn't a shōnen (media for young boys) like Full Metal alchemist, so it won't be playing with the same tropes. This show knocked Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood from its top spot of more than a decade within just a few weeks of airing episode one and only got better, If it means anything.
Hard to tell because weebs tend to be very fanboyish towards their various shows and books to the point where they lose all reason. And I did look up some rankings before trying to watch that episode and saw the show was highly ranked overall, sometimes even above something like AoT, which I personally rank very highly too. So if I hear so many people rave about it and see such good ratings just to then get confronted with such utter nonsense in the first episode, I kinda lose interest in the whole genre and the opinion of people who suggest this stuff. Like, I know there's the odd decent movie or show, and the odd gem even like AoT, but if I have to dig through so much garbage to find it then what's the point?
I have what is broadly considered "shit" taste in anime. I never watch more than 1 to 3 episodes of most things because you have to be discerning with how you spend your time. For me, I don't enjoy almost any shonen anime where the plot is driven by introducing foes at higher power levels. Always someone bigger and badder, always a new power level for your MC to break into, repeat for 19 seasons. yawn.
I don't mind high power levels & power creep, at least not in principle because it can also become a story of beating impossible odds. I very much enjoyed DB Super for that reason too with its completely over the top fights. But DB & DBZ have so much shit that it would be hard for me to get through nowadays as well (was even annoying when I was young) or even recommend it to others.
What riles me up however is when protagonist and antagonist meet and start to have some completely moronic dialog about their plans and intentions, like they're best buddies and it's of course always a good idea for the villain to spew their plans. Or when you have the protagonists have their 5 minute monologues in front of a repeating background that explains the very obvious situation that they're in, in case I somehow wasn't paying attention to what was just happening (convenient if you can cut 5 of 20 minutes of an episode like that). Or when they have that inner monologue to explain how various things work, as if they were a given, which just makes it sound like they just make shit up as they go most of the time (AoT had a moment of that too with the armored ability of "moving consciousness" through their body). Or when they have their idiotic grimaces and shit as a reaction to something, especially something the enemy just said to them.
I could go on and on... There's just so many anime tropes like this that I absolutely hate. It's sad because between all this and some of the very nonsensical shit there are definitely good ones out there, but they're almost impossible to find if you don't want to wade through all the garbage first.
I get you, when ever I pick up new anime if it doesn't impress me in the first five minutes I drop it. If they're not putting their best foot forward on the first episode, it's not worth my time. Some shows I don't make it a whole minute.
